Whew! It's been an ultra busy past month!
A general new update on the month:
March 1st: Had been hesitant to spend money and go to the triathlon in Lake Havasu. I hadn't been training very much. Decided I would go, I had made a pledge to myself that I would no longer hesitate or hold back (read previous entry).
March 11th-18th: Traveled to Lake Havasu for a triathlon with the UW triathlon team. Camped in the Grand Canyon on the way down, and went for a jog on the rim trail the next morning. It surely is Grand! Arrived in Lake Havasu Wednesday. We stayed in a house about 2 miles from the lake, complete with billiards and horseshoes. Raced on St. Patty's day, and surprised myself with a fast run! Placed 7th for the conference and our team qualified for nationals. ($275)
A week later:
Registered for nationals ( hey I can get in a solid month of training to make it worth my while right?)
Started planning for the trip to Tuscaloosa, AL. Plane ticket, hotel and car rental ($389) and worth every penny!
Last week of March:
Took a spur of the moment trip to Pennsylvania to be with the large extended family and celebrate my Grandmother's rich and colorful life! It was wonderful to be with all the cousins, aunts, and uncles. I Thank God for my wonderfully big family: 29 aunts&uncles, 37 cousins, and a bunch of their kids. And I hope I grow up to share God's love with the world as much as she did!
First two weeks of April:
Crazy busy catching up with school work from the trip. Lots of lab write ups, assignments, quizzes, and exams.
Easter:
Had quite the feast with the Wyoming O'Dwyer/Grimes crew. Cheese, crackers and salami hors devours Pork roast, browned potatoes, steamed asparagus, and brussel sprouts. Followed by homemade eclairs, apple crisp, brownies, and of course the coveted Reese's Easter eggs.
Currently:
Only two more weeks left in the semester! One week till nationals, and 3.5 till I'm back home in Jackson. Getting very excited for nationals, but so much on my mind between school work and planning the trip, that I have trouble falling asleep, despite the fact that I'm exhausted!
Headed to bed at the moment! I have a long day of class, lab write ups, and working out to do tomorrow!
